I bought this tablecloth in Beckenham a while back. Sadly, I know nothing about its history other than it is covered in stains, so it was used and enjoyed. I always ask the shop assistant if they can remember who donated the things I buy, but nobody could remember anything about this.
The tablecloth had eight busy woman embroidered onto it. Four are bending over, and so their size was perfect for my folding cards, and four are standing, which was good for postcards.
As always, the cards are made from food packaging and any stains on the cloth have been left. I do not remove the blemishes left by life. Each one is totally unique, and a couple will be put in my shop later today (once I have fed my children). If you can’t find the one you are looking for, please give me a shout.
I have done a lot more hand-sewing on these than is usual for me (mainly on public transport), but I felt I owed it to the unknown embroiderer, to whom I dedicate these cards. If she is still alive and is ever in a position to see these, I hope she likes them.
I have plans for the rest of the tablecloth.
Don’t forget, tomorrow is the last day for my giveaway. I will announce the winner here on Monday, 2nd September.
