12. Men’s Stuff Patchwork – Manly Watches


Bloody Hell! There is actually a website called Manly Watch Guide. Of course there is. At the helm is Lance, a hardcore manly watch enthusiast. He also enjoys rock-climbing, diving, flying, and backpacking. Lance reminds me of this bloke.

The patch was taken from Ladybird ABC, illustrated by Gerald Witcomb. Published in 1978, making this little square 38 years old.

There is zero information about Gerald Witcomb on the internet, unfortunately.

Another book I acquired by the school-library-bin method.

This is part of a patchwork of so-called men’s stuff. It is made from discarded books, magazines, postcards and junk mail. There are sixteen squares in total. You can see the whole piece here.

All of my work is individually numbered, this piece is 799. It can be found in my shop.
