Sonia Delauney

This is Sonia Delauney at Bielefeld, in 1958.

The square is taken from a leaflet for a wonderful exhibition at Tate Modern in 2015. My favourite exhibit, by far, was a blanket she stitched for her son Charles, in 1911. I have wanted to attempt a recreation of this blanket ever since, but so far have not found the time.

Photographer not credited.

This is the sixth patch of my ‘London Exhibition Patchwork’. It is a patchwork made from leaflets of exhibitions I have visited in London. There are sixteen squares in total.

You can see the whole piece here and in my shop, or you can follow my progress on Instagram, if you are so inclined.
