Fake News Is Killing Minds

I have finished ‘Fake News Is Killing Minds’, but until today have not been able to take photographs.

All of my work is numbered, this piece is 817.

Storm Doris Is Finished

I have finished ‘Storm Doris Is Coming’, which was started on February 1st, 2017. It’ll be a while before I tackle another month’s-worth of news. (Will be posting ‘Fake News Is Killing Minds’, shortly, if you were wondering what happened to it).

If you are new to this project, you can find an explanation here.

It is listed in my shop, and I am now going to have a cup of tea.

Storm Doris Is Coming At Some Point

I have completed the 28 days of February (2017), I just need to add the first day of March and the last day of January.

Storm Doris Is Still Coming

Eighteen Squares done, twelve to go.

Storm Doris Is Coming

Just started assembling ‘Storm Doris Is Coming’, my second ‘February News’ piece. So much easier this time, as I’m sewing onto fabric rather than thick card.

My friend, Cathy, gave me the fabric quite a long time ago.

Four Squares done, twenty-six to go.

All of my work is individually numbered, this piece is 816.

I am aware that I haven’t posted a picture of ‘Fake News Is Killing Minds’ in its finished state, but London has been rather dark and I have been unable to take a decent photograph.

Storm Doris Is Coming And Fake News Is Killing Minds, 9

As you can see here, I had a couple of gaps in ‘Fake News Is Killing Minds’ (my daily news record for February, 2017). In the end I decided to add the last day of January and the first day of March (pictured above), to make it a more pleasing shape.

I will do the same for ‘Storm Doris Is Coming’, which I haven’t started assembling yet. Going to sew onto fabric this time, though, since sewing through card hurts.

Anyway, these are the four extra squares of news:

Jan 31st, 2017:   Fires In Chile,   Chimp Trafficking

March 1st, 2017:   Sir Philip Greed,   Soft Power Hourglass

Mostly Uninvited 811

If You Are New Here: This project started (January 2015) with me sewing junk-mail faces onto a big woollen blanket. It has since expanded to include images from magazines and leaflets, I find in bins and on public transport. ‘Uninvited’ was the working title, until I changed it to ‘Mostly Uninvited’. Unless I tell you otherwise, take it that the portrait was part of some junk mail, pushed through my letterbox. I will always credit photographers, illustrators, designers and the faces, whenever possible. All of my work is numbered, this is 632. If you search this number in ‘Categories’, you can find out about the other faces.
